The Minister for Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovations, Sam Nartey George, has clarified that not all the Ghanaian women captured in videos linked to a Russian national had sexual relations with him.
The clarification follows claims circulating in some quarters suggesting that the Russian national engaged in sexual activity with all the women featured in the alleged exploitation videos.
Addressing a press conference alongside officials from the Ministry of Gender, Children, and Social Protection, Sam George dismissed the assertions.
“Let me say that not all the women had sexual intercourse with the Russian,” he stated.
The Minister for Gender, Children, and Social Protection, Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, assured the public that justice would be served.
“Nobody will violate any Ghanaian citizen and go scot-free, and that is the task President John Dramani Mahama has given us,” she said.
She added that the ministry is providing psycho-social support to the victims and their families.
“Reach out to us, and we will support you. The public can also reach out if they know of any of the victims,” she stated.
The controversy intensified after a viral video surfaced showing a man identified as Yaytseslav interacting with Ghanaian women, some of whom were later reported to have accompanied him to his hotel.
The footage circulated widely on social media, sparking public outrage and renewed calls for decisive action against online sexual exploitation
